Drenching Rain

We are now sitting in Silver River State Park near Ocala, FL and for the first time since we started RVing we had to setup in the rain.  But luckily we have a pull thru site so it was not too bad.   Kinda miserable here and the forecast for the next couple days are not much better.  Here is what the paper says about today.

Morning

Showers and heavy thunderstorms

Afternoon

Showers and heavy thunderstorms.

Evening

Drenching thunderstorms.

Crying.

Oh well - -that’s the way it goes.

Now for the good news — I am typing this post using my new Verizon modem.  It is FABULOUS!  This is truly unbelievable.  I was even online driving down the road yesterday.  So Cool.  The speed is equal to what I get at home using our cable modem.  I’m just so impressed with it so far.    This trip will be a good test of how it works in various locations.   We’ll be in Ocala til Tuesday afternoon.  Actually Tuesday morning we take our Bus over to Cummins to get our annual maintenance and the fuel line repair completed.  The later an outstanding campaign that will be covered by Cummins.  I really want us to get out of there by 2 or so — so we can get to Valdosta, GA.  before dark. Then we head to Winfield COE CG near Augusta, GA for about 3 nights and then up to Old Federal COE CG on Lake Lanier for many nights.  On the way home we’ll stop @ High Falls State Park for 1 night.  I had to rearrange the schedule little to accommodate this fuel line fix — my original plan was to be @ High Falls for 2 nights on the way up to Augusta — so the 1 night on the way back is just my desperate attempt to see the place!  I sure hope we get some good weather for part of this trip.  We will be on the road for 3 weeks so I’ll have lots to share.

Today I think we’ll drive around town and see what is happening.  Looks like they have a couple of antique malls nearby and if it’s going to pour seems like a good day to go hunting.  And I’m on the hunt for some unique accessories for the Bus and for home too — whatever I can find.  Here’s the dash area — with the new quilt tablecloth now in place.   I’m not fond of this little lamp it’s a little dorky looking and the rest of the dash area is a bit bare.  It needs some stuff!  Well not too much but  I’ll know it when I see it.

I’ll try and get some more pictures of the CG before we leave and a short movie too - weather permitting.

About two years ago we stayed at Winfield Site #13. The park is nice. If you have time to check out the area, especially Mistletoe SP and Petersburg COE. We have stayed in Petersburg, site #44 - 2 times last winter. The weather is very nice in the 70's but we are expecting thunderstorms this weekend. I am so jealous, I will be working almost full time the next two weeks! Have fun.

I am so jealous about your wifi. What a luxury to be riding down the road and surfin' the 'net!

You are having weather like our weekend at the Martinsville race; no fun!!!

How did you get that table to sit on the steering wheel, that's too cool! You are so clever Lucy. Do you ever drive the bus?

Yes - good idea Nita I hope to see those other CGs.

Pat -- you need another trip soon! He He

Peter - - That is a special table to fit over a steering wheel that can be bought @ Camping World or places like that. And sadly I have not driven the Bus yet. Not on the open road. Seems parking lot drives don't count. Dang. I need to do this someday soon.
