Decorating The Office
Monday, March 31, 2008 Well it sure has been a long time coming. I’ve been working on this project for over a month. I had a plan - then a plan for the plan, ordered the furniture, shopped for fabric, made the drapes, painted, repainted (saved Tom from baby poop), and then today I did the fun part.
Accessorized.
The Pottery Barn and their friends in China and India now have lots of my money. I stopped there after picking up my MacBook danger danger and bought 2 lamps, 2 lamps shades, a clock, couple of picture frames, and a piggy bank.

The bottom 2 drawers in the credenza are file drawers. Lots of bills requires lots of files. he he

We’ve had this lamp for over 10 years — the shade was crunched long ago — so that’s where one of the new shades went. The glass jar on the desk is the piggy bank.

Since you cannot see the drapery pattern — here’s a closeup during construction. I decided to use the chunky rings with clips instead of doing pinch pleats… it was faster. he he
I hate putting up curtain rods, but the drapery gods were smiling down on me yesterday - they went up correctly the first time and they are attached for life! Should the next owner look - they’ll only find 6 holes up there vs 12 or 18. smile
But the drapes are not hemmed yet. Tomorrow.
.
So that’s it. I’m pooped and broke.
The end.

Looks like money well spent! Hope your hubby appreciates all your efforts cuz you did a great job!
A job well done. I like the way the curtains look. And the wall color is much better since you repainted. You will never get Tom out of there.
Looks great. I especially like the furniture.
Very nice, you are good. Now you can come out and do my office slash guest room slash painting room. I know you really want to. :)
Thanks for the feedback guys/gals -- I appreciate it. Tom is really happy with the results too.
Yep Bro -- I'd be happy to help you -- maybe before/after Blythe's wedding???
