Sewing Room Progress

I’ve been working on the sewing room for the last few days (in between my Sears phone calls).  Secretly i’ve been worried about whether my Bernina would be OK or not…given the problems we have with some other furniture - but it appears to be OK.  Turns on anyway.  I’ll try sewing on it and my serger tomorrow.  My little TV seems to be coming apart where the back snaps to the front.  I’ll test this tomorrow too.  Anyway - here are some pics of the progress.  Nothing in the drawers yet — and the closet is still a mess - but at least i can walk in the room now.

Notice the new lights —- i’ve needed these for a long time.  Picked these up at Home Depot today.

Want to take bets how long these walls stay white?  I’m already looking at paint swatches.  I don’t want any bright colors this time - i’m thinking a deep tan.  Something to help tone down the black  furniture — compliment the antique accessories. And of course i’ll  add a window treatment of some kind.  That valance was left by the previous owner.

I’m really eager to start sewing again.  That bag hanging from a peg on the shelf contains a project —- i had an idea to make several quilt bags to hold projects like this — to add some color to the room.  I did start this bag  before our move - but i made a cutting error - so i have to start over unless i want it to look like a wallet when it’s done - what a bozo.

The only unpacking that remains - Tom’s office and the garage so we are almost done!

Oh! I'm so jealous, look at all that lovely space! I'm especially admiring that Bernina... they are the most beautiful machines :)

It's all looking great - but I agree, needs some color on the walls. LOL. Tan would be nice. I just did one of my bedrooms upstairs sage green and love it. It comes off as more a neutral than a color -- just a nice calm background.
