Florida Sewing Room

NC Sewing Room.JPG

One of my first projects in our Florida home is to redesign the sewing room.  I’ll be using the same furniture i have today - and it really doesn’t matter which room - as they all are the same size but i have to decide on a color - i’m a color gal.  This deep peach (orange - whatever you call it) was fun - but i’m ready for a change.

201966-709220-thumbnail.jpgI have alot of small antique accessories - wooden spools, old fans, a stool, pantry box, some pictures - like this one in my guest bath today.  I love this picture — so it got me thinking a design centered around an antique store would be fun.  I love the quilt store near me — it’s in an old house with wooden floors and they have all kinds of antiques sprinkled around the store for accents.  I could spend hours in that store…and sometimes i do.  he he he.

Obviously my room won’t have the same “old time feel” being in a Florida home - and i’ll have to be careful it doesn’t get too cluttered.   But i could add some shelves to display the antiques and add quilts for wall hangings.  I best get moving on those sewing projects - eh?   I’m way behind.

I’m kinda liking that idea.   A nice calm color for a background - so the antiques and quilts are the stars.  The black furniture is pretty intense — so i think the wood antiques would calm it down a little - add some balance.  I hope.

Can you tell i’m ready to move?  Even though i’m going to miss my garden… sigh… i’m ready.  BTW — those 96 Daffodils - are coming up.  Not sure i’ll ever get to see them bloom - but if i do - i’ll take a picture.

Great idea......to display all of your neat antiques and things you find on your travels. You can look at them when your eyes need a rest from your sewing.
