OC Spinning Stars

Last night I worked ahead on the mystery quilt — a little bit.  Just as a test.  Step 4 starts assembling blocks from step 1 and I was curious - so I put together one to see how it would look.  It’s called spinning stars.  If you don’t see the star here I’m in big trouble  he he.

201966-1562866-thumbnail.jpgBonnie advised us to use solid looking prints for this step (the star portion), but I fell in love with this flowered black because it ties in the shade of red and the orange that is yet to come. There has to be some continuity to this or I cannot work on it.  I tried finding a black with a smaller print but they just looked entirely wrong to me.

After assembling this, I was tempted to throw in the towel on the entire project.  Again.  It’s pretty painful not knowing how these blocks will look with the others.  Makes me want to stop and redo some previous steps, but how crazy is that?  I’d never get done.  So I decided to soldier on no matter how putrid all this might look in the end.

I know the block doesn’t look perfectly square, but when you tug on it - it’s fine.  giggle  It will all come together somehow or not

Back to sewing …

Finding Campgrounds Update, etc.

I’m sewing today…trying to catch up on the Mystery Quilt.  Bonnie published Step 4 early.  Of course.  Slapping Head  But before I head into seclusion, I thought I’d share a couple of recent RV finds.

I found another cool link for the Finding Campgrounds section @ RVLife.   I don’t know the owner or how I found his site as I just stumbled onto it when researching campgrounds earlier this year.   Lots of pictures from the many campgrounds he has visited over the years.  Seems he might be moving his info to another website platform soon.  He talks about it in a message posted in the  discussion area.  I’m going to sign up for this group so I can stay in touch after he moves.

201966-1554366-thumbnail.jpgAnd I found a company to make  a welcome sign to display when we are  camping.  Visit Craftvilage to see their options which also includes Class Cs, 5th wheels, trailers, pop-ups and state images, etc.  Plus many, many non-RV related signs.  His turnaround is about 2 weeks.  You pick the words, colors, etc.  I asked him to change the MH coloring to better match ours and he’s doing that too.  Obviously the stock image doesn’t look exactly like our Bus, but close enough.  Our sign plus a stand and shipping came to $57.

We might have to get another sign made when we get a puppy like this. smile

I look at puppy websites every night.  Tom’s warming up to the idea though some days he wavers.  Me too - I still need to be really, really sure.  This little cutie is no longer available.   Dang  She is a Schnoodle (part Schnauzer - part Poodle).
